Vietnamese Food in America: A Conversation About (and taste of) Immigrant Cuisine
Location: UCSB MultiCultural Center Lounge.
As part of UCSB Reads 2019, UCSB Library is bringing chef and immigrant workers' activist Diep Tran to campus for a discussion about Vietnamese cuisine and how it fits in with a broader conversation about immigrant cuisine in America, with an emphasis on labor and workers' rights. Diep will offer attendees a snack of bánh mì. Moderated by Donna Anderson, graduate student in History, and Vice President of the Asian-Pacific Islander Graduate Student Alliance (API-GSA). Space is limited and advance registration is strongly advised. To register, or for more information, please write ucsbreads [at] library [dot] ucsb [dot] edu
This event is co-sponsored with UCSB MultiCultural Center and other UCSB Reads 2019 sponsors.
