UCSB faculty, staff, and currently enrolled students with valid UCSB Library accounts can place Interlibrary Loan requests for materials not held by the UCSB Library.
The fastest and most accurate method of requesting items from other libraries is to use UC Library Search to search for the materials you need. In a catalog record, under "How to get it," choose "Interlibrary Loan." You may also place requests through WorldCat or the Articles Indexes and Databases, using the "Get it at UC" links.
Requests for Book Chapters and Journal Articles should be made using the Article/Book Chapter in the item record request form. Fill in the chapter title under Article Title and the book title under Journal Title, add NA to the volume field. Fill in other fields as appropriate.

If you already have a citation, you can use the UC Library Search Citation Linker
For items not found through UC Library Search or WorldCat, you may use the Blank ILL request form. (The manual form has been discontinued).
To view requests that you've already placed, log into My Library Account to view all items requested.
If you have difficulty logging in or placing a request, please contact Interlibrary Loan by emailing library-ill@ucsb.edu or calling (805) 893-3436.
If UCSB Owns the Item
You may place a request for an item that the UCSB Library owns if our copy is checked out or if it is declared lost or missing, use the Blank ILL request form. If you cannot find a UCSB owned item in the Library, please check with the Library Services Desk.
Special Research Collections Material: you may submit an ILL request to borrow, if available, a circulating copy from another library of an item held in UCSB Special Research Collections.
Reserve Materials: Faculty, Graduates, and Staff only may submit ILL requests for materials that are on Course Reserve.
