The Teledyne Geotronics Collection came to the UCSB Library as part of the large 1984 gift that brought the first significant piece of the Fairchild Collection.

Included in the Teledyne collection are almost 61,000 large format images that have an independent archival finding aid. 1,478 of these images have been digitized and are being ingested into ADRL. Item-level metadata and scanning of this collection were funded by a grant from the John Randolph Haynes and Dora Haynes Foundation. The greater Los Angeles area was once home to a great many more sports stadiums than exist today.  Gillmore Stadium and Gillmore Field (home of the Hollywood Stars of the Pacific Coast league) stood where CBS Television City is today.  Wrigley Field in South LA was home to the LA Angels minor league team before that farm team was bought by the new LA Dodgers and moved to Spokane.  The major league LA Angels baseball team, also used the stadium, as well as Pepperdine University's football team.

Repeated flights were made over the "Spruce Goose" as it was constructed next to the water in San Pedro Harbor.  You can clearly see progress as the tail is connected and fuselage completed over the wings.
