Listening Room Vinyl Record Player
The Listening Rooms (Rooms 1404 and 1406) provide access to analog and digital equipment for listening to LP and CD collections.

Reserve a Listening Room

Listening Rooms EquipmentListening Rooms are intended to be used primarily with Library media collections. Physical media should be requested in advance through UC Library Search (requests may take up to 4 days to be processed).   • Windows workstation

Media Lab

Media Lab
The Media Lab (Room 1408) provides access to three Mac workstations each equipped with headphones, MIDI keyboards and specialized audio/video software.

Multimedia Studio
The Multimedia Studio (Room 1402) provides access to high-quality equipment for podcast and video/interview recording and for group listening.

Practice Presentation Room

Practice Presentation Room
The Presentation Practice Room (Room 1506) allows UCSB students, faculty and staff to practice, refine, and record oral and multimedia presentations for classes and seminars, conferences, thesis defenses, and other events.

  • Podium
  • Large wall display monitor that connects to your personal laptop or to a Library laptop
  • Ceiling-mounted camera
  • Whiteboard and markers
  • Table and 4 chairs
  • Clicker/laser pointer is available for check-out from the Library Services Desk
  • Dry-erase markers and erasers are available at the Information Desk (in the Learning Commons) and the Services Desk (in the Paseo).

Public Listening/Viewing Station

Public Listening and Viewing Station
A public listening/viewing station is available to all Library users on a first-come, first-serve basis. It is located in the Sara Miller McCune Arts Library space on the 1st floor, Mountain Side. Besides this public station, all other media rooms and equipment listed above are limited to UCSB students, faculty, and staff.
