Charles S. Jones (1895-1970) was a businessman and head of Rio Grande Oil, which sponsored the radio show Calling All Cars. This collection primarily consists of 258 Calling All Cars transcription discs (1934-1939). Many of the transcription discs include "squibs" that give a brief description of the program. Jones obtained the transcription discs in his capacity as sponsor of the program. This collection also includes 2 discs from a Dwight D. Eisenhower speech (1953).
