The UCSB Library will be closed for Winter Break from Thursday, December 24 through Sunday, January 3. No services will be offered during that time.

The pickup and mailing service will continue up until the closure, with Tuesday, December 22 being the last day to pick up materials before the break. The Main Library will offer an extended pickup time from noon-4 p.m. that day. The Music Library will offer its regular pickup hours of 2-4 p.m.

You can continue to place requests for pickup and mailing or Interlibrary Loan during the closure, however, they will not be fulfilled until staff return starting January 4.

The room booking service for faculty and graduate students will close at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 18, and will reopen at 9 a.m. Monday, January 4.

The last day to schedule a Special Research Collections (SRC) appointment will be Thursday, December 17. Appointments with SRC will resume Tuesday, January 12.

Remember that online access to research databases, electronic journals, and e-books is always available to UCSB students, faculty, and staff from anywhere using the Library website.

The 24/7 chat service located in the bottom right corner of the website will be staffed throughout the holidays. This is a cooperative service, so users may be chatting with a librarian from another academic library.  Questions referred back to UCSB Library for follow-up will be answered starting January 4.

The UCSB Library wishes you a safe, healthy, and happy holiday season.
