Shima Moradi is the Middle Eastern Studies Librarian and Slavic and Area Studies Collection Strategist. She has held positions as a Middle Eastern Studies Librarian, Scholarly Librarian, Researcher, and Assistant Professor of Library and Information Science at universities in the United States and internationally. She earned her B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. in Library and Information Science, with a specialization in research evaluation and scientometrics. Throughout her career, she has also overseen several national initiatives, including projects on smart cities, open science, and the evaluation of higher education institutions in science, research, and technology.
She has some books and publications on open science, science policy making, and altmetrics (alternative metrics for scholarly research). Her research interests include open science, scholarly communication, research ethics, research evaluation, academic integrity, and the application of technologies in science and research.
