Subject librarian for
Kate Parker is a Teaching & Learning Librarian at UCSB Library. She holds a B.A. in French from UC Berkeley and an M.L.I.S. from San Jose State University. In her free time, she enjoys travel, gardening, and volunteering with local civic organizations.
As a Teaching & Learning Librarian, she supports foundational information literacy skills for first-year, first-generation students through direct instruction, digital learning, and research consultations. Teaching & Learning serves as the liaison to the Writing Program and to the Office of Teaching & Learning, working in partnerships to provide pedagogical and research support to fellow instructors while promoting cross-divisional user services.
