* Gaucho Hours
During Gaucho Hours (Late Night Study and Study Commons), the Library building is only available to UCSB students, faculty, and staff with a valid campus ID.
Changes to Library Building Hours (October 2025)
Effective October 26, UCSB Library’s building hours will change as follows for the 2025-2026 Academic Year (Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters):
- The Library will open to the public at 7:00 AM Monday-Friday, excluding university holidays and breaks.
- The Library will remain open to UCSB students, faculty, and staff from 1:00 AM to 3:00 AM on Sunday-Thursday nights for Study Commons in the Learning Commons on the 1st and 2nd Floors, Mountain Side.
- Exception: During Dead Week and Finals Week, Late Night Study hours will be 6:00 PM to 7:00 AM, ensuring exclusive 24-hour access for UCSB students, faculty, and staff during the busiest times of the academic year.
