Subject librarian for
Ling Chan (陳泠; Jyutping: Can4 ling4) is the East Asian Studies Librarian in the Collection Strategies Department at the UCSB Library. She holds a Ph.D. and an M.A. in East Asian Languages and Civilizations from the University of Chicago, and a B.A. in History (Archaeology) from Peking University. Her research interests include the history of the book and the circulation of literary and religious knowledge in pre-modern East Asia. She likes to read mystery novels and solve jigsaw (plus narrative) puzzles in her spare time.
At UCSB, she manages and develops Library resources for the East Asian Collection. She also offers library instruction, research consultations, and collections outreach to faculty and students in support of East Asian Studies. View her research guides.
