The 5th floor of the Library will be closed to patrons next Monday, December 13 to Wednesday, December 15 to allow for renovations to the lobby area.
If you need access to East Asian collection materials on the 5th floor during the three-day closure, Access Services staff can retrieve them for you.
Requests can be submitted from item records within UC Library Search. Patrons will be notified by email when requested items are available for pickup at the Library Services Desk.
On Thursday, December 16, safe pathways will open on the 5th floor to allow users to access the collections again, although construction work will continue throughout December.
The journals located in the 5th-floor lobby have been relocated for the renovation project and will be restored on January 7. If you would like to read one of these journals before January 7, please email circ@library.ucsb.edu with your request.
Renovations that are being performed on the 5th floor lobby include the replacement of the ceiling tiles and grid and the addition of carpet over the tile floor.
