Beyond the Books with PALS
Participate in the UCSB Library’s “Beyond the Books” activity by visiting several locations to explore the Library and discover its resources. Collect free treats and swag along the way while meeting friendly PALS (Peer-Assisted Library Services) students and staff.
Makerspace
Meet Makerspace staff, grab some free goodies, and enter for a chance to win a UCSB-themed coaster set made with the laser cutter. Then head to the Makerspace (1st floor, Ocean Side), to make your own pin button and get inspired for the school year.
Open and Affordable Course Material
Meet Course Reserves staff and the Open and Affordable Course Materials Librarian to learn how the Library can help you save money and access course materials for free. Submit a note to your instructors about course materials for a chance to win an Amazon gift card.
UCSB Reads
Get free UCSB Reads items from previous years, including books, bookmarks, and other memorabilia. Learn more about the UCSB Reads program, this year's shortlist, and how you can participate in the Winter and Spring activities connected to this year's book selection.
UCSB Reads is an award-winning, campus-wide, and community-wide "one book" program led by the Library. Each year, a committee of faculty, staff, students, and community partners convenes to select an intellectually stimulating, interdisciplinary book by a living author that appeals to a wide range of readers and can be incorporated into the UCSB curriculum.
