Join a student-led book club to discuss this year’s UCSB Reads book selection, Happy City: Transforming Our Lives Through Urban Design by Charles Montgomery, which explores how our communities do or do not make us happy.
On April 19, we will discuss Chapters 3 and 6 of Happy City. Don't have a copy of the book? Stop by the Library Services Desk to get one, or email library-outreach@ucsb.edu.
The book club will meet at least twice to discuss themes of urban design and the new science of happiness, car dependency and other transportation issues, dense urban living, and the importance of creating happy, green, and low-carbon cities for everyone. We are excited to hear everyone’s unique reflections and ideas for how to improve our own communities!
Club is open to any UCSB affiliate, students, staff and faculty are welcome!
