This exhibition, celebrating black student activism at UC Santa Barbara in 1968 through archival photographs, is presented in conjunction with North Hall Takeover 50 Years After - A Black Vision of Change organized by UC Santa Barbara Alumni and Department of Black Studies to honor the 12 students who, on October 14, 1968, took over the North Hall building to demand change in the curriculum and climate on campus for Black students.

This exhibition is curated by kynita stringer-stanback (UCSB Library) and Alyssa Frick-Jenkins (UCSB undergraduate).

*A Luta Continua is a term coined by FRELIMO (The Mozambique Liberation Front). It’s Portuguese for “The Struggle Continues.”
