Introduction to Protocols.io
Registration Coming Soon!
Research papers often lack detailed instructions for repeating a study. Protocols.io is an open-access platform for creating and sharing detailed dynamic protocols. In this introductory hands-on workshop, we will learn why protocol sharing matters and guide you through building a step-by-step protocol. We will introduce core features, highlight unique functionalities, and discuss how Protocols.io fits alongside other methods-sharing options. By the end of the session, you will understand how to adapt protocols.io for your research workflow and use it to support reproducible, well-documented research.
Researchers from all disciplines are welcome, including those documenting lab procedures, computational workflows, or qualitative methods such as interview guides. This workshop will be of particular interest to graduate students, postdocs, and faculty.
This workshop is part of the Reproducible Methods with Protocols.io mini-series offered by the UCSB Library. A follow-up workshop on Advanced Workflows for Research Teams Using protocols.io will be held on January 19, 2027.
This event may be photographed or recorded.
