This collection of "rice photos" was donated to the UCSB Library in 2007 by Vestra Resources, who acquired the collection from CH2M Hill, an American based engineering company. The dates of photography range from the mid-1960s to the mid-1990s, and the coverage is concentrated in the rice growing regions of the northern Central Valley of California, hence our colloquial name for the photos. Coverage also includes other areas of California, as well as Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, and Massachusetts. The entire CH2M collection consists of the first generation negative transparency roll film.
