Status

Karmiole Fellowships do not confer academic standing of affiliation during the period of residence. They are stipends that facilitate research visits and use of collections. Fellows must make their own arrangements for travel and accommodation. Fellowship stipends will be sent to recipients upon the completion of their research visits.

Research Presentation

Fellows will be required to speak about their ongoing research at an informal work-in-progress presentation, program, or guest lecture during, or after, their visit to UCSB Library. This interaction is intended to inspire the fellows and both UCSB and local scholars to write scholarly papers, articles and books, and to contribute to the academic and intellectual life fostered by the UCSB Library.

Publicity

Each fellow’s name, affiliation, research project title, and final project (if available) may be used in future reports and publicity about the fellowships program.

Fellowship recipients will be asked to cite the Kenneth Karmiole Endowed Research Library Fellowship in UCSB Library Special Research Collections in presentations and publications originating from their research visits.
