The following workshop has been cancelled. If you would like to attend an open office hour with your questions about Creative Commons licenses, please reach out to Anne Cong-Huyen or Angela Chikowero.

This interactive UCSB Library workshop is offered in celebration of Open Education Week (OEW), March 2–6, 2026. OEW is an annual global event that highlights and promotes scholarly exploration of open education. The workshop introduces the fundamentals of Creative Commons (CC) licensing and its role in supporting teaching, learning, and the open sharing of knowledge. Participants will learn how to identify, select, use, and apply CC licenses responsibly; understand the differences among license types; and explore how open licenses enable the legal reuse and dissemination of educational and scholarly materials. While attendance at the Copyright workshop is encouraged, no prior experience with Creative Commons or copyright concepts is required.

This event may be photographed or recorded.
