This event is a two day example-driven workshop on January 12 and 14, 2022 for an introduction to using version control with Git and the Bash-Shell.  On Day 1, we get you started on how to use the command shell.  The use of a shell allows you to perform complex and powerful tasks, often with just a few keystrokes or lines of code. It helps automate repetitive tasks and easily combine smaller tasks into larger, more efficient workflows.  On Day 2, we go over how to practice version control; and never lose track of your progress and edits while collaborating with others.

Short tutorials alternate with hands-on practical exercises, and participants are encouraged both to help one another, and to try applying what they have learned to their own research problems between sessions.

Dates:  This event runs on January 12 and 14 from 9:00AM - 1:00PM
