UCSB Library collections are interdisciplinary and support the UCSB academic programs. In addition to more than three million print volumes, the collections include manuscripts, sound recordings, cartography, and digital resources. The Library collaborates with other UC libraries to acquire and provide access to the broadest range of resources.

The Collection Development Department oversees the development and management of library collections. Collection coordinators work within discipline-based groups to strategically plan and implement policies and programs. Subject librarians select resources in all formats for the collections and can be consulted for specific research needs.
