Books and Music Scores 

  • Available for loan
  • 3 months use
  • No renewals 
  • Exceptions:
    • Reference materials

Dissertations & Masters Theses 

  • Available for loan
  • 3 months use
  • No renewals 
  • Exceptions:
    • Archival copies
    • Some specified Arts Library copies

Periodicals 

  • Available for loan
  • 2 weeks use
  • No renewals 
  • Exceptions:
    • Unbound or issues published within the last 5 years
    • Arts and Music Library journals

Newspapers 

  • Available for loan if in microform
  • 3 months use
  • Limits on number lent may be imposed
  • No renewals

Microform Material (microfilm, microfiche, microprint) 

  • Most available for loan (we may send paper copy if under 50 exposures)
  • 3 months use
  • No renewals 
  • Exceptions:
    • Some microform collections are non-circulating
    • Limits on number lent may be imposed
    • Film to film, fiche to fiche duplication not available

Government Documents 

  • Available for loan (may send paper copy if under 50 exposures)
  • 3 months use
  • No renewals

Media Materials 

  • Videos and sound recordings: available for loan if they circulate
  • 2 weeks use
  • No renewals 
  • Exceptions:
    • Music Library Service Desk sound and video recordings: not available for loan

Maps & Atlases 

  • Available for loan if they circulate
  • Non-circulating items in Map & Imagery Lab not available for loan
  • 3 months use
  • No renewals

Non-Circulating Items from Special Locations 

  • Loan subject to approval by collection managers on item by item basis
  • 2 weeks loan, library use only
  • No renewals

Special Collections 

  • Generally not available for loan. Special loans subject to approval by collection managers on item by item basis.
  • 2 to 4 weeks use, Special Collections Use Only, No photocopying may be imposed
  • No renewals

Restrictions 

  •  Library Use Only: Item(s) must be restricted to supervised reading area within the borrowing library. Photocopying permitted unless otherwise specified. 
  • Special Collections Use Only: Item(s) must be restricted to supervised Special Collections reading area.
