It contains an enormous amount of critical data on inorganic and organic compounds, and pure substances. The original 1000-page index is hyperlinked to each entry's appropriate page. The electronic handbook may be browsed by the table of contents, or searched by keyword, or by ranges of property values. Some tables of properties are "live" and may be sorted by any property in the table.
