Supreme Court Decision Restores Copyright Protection to Some Works Formerly in the Public Domain

A recent Supreme Court decision has changed the status of some materials, first published abroad from 1923 to 1989, that were formerly considered to be under the public domain.  Many well known works, including films by Alfred Hitchcock, books by C. S. Lewis and Virginia Woolf, symphonies by Prokofiev and Stravinsky, and paintings by Picasso, are affected by this decision.
