Crimson Hexagon, Datastream, and two shared folders (Public Open Data and UCSB-Only Data) are accessible only in the Collaboratory. The shared folders contain geospatial data, US Census data (including a collection of Current Population Surveys, use Library Search for the title "CPS Utilities"), household consumer expenditures, and more. For more information about access, please visit the Collaboratory during walk-in hours, or contact collaboratory [at] library [dot] ucsb [dot] edu.
As a member of the Hathi Trust consortium, UCSB affiliates may access Hathi's full corpus of scanned books via virtual machines or web-based analytics. HTRC Analytics is designed to be a source of data for those interested mining the text of 16 million volumes of printed texts, mostly in English but including over 400 languages.
We have a LibGuide to finding, accessing, and using Social Sciences Data and Statistics and another with links to training materials for specialized software and data sources.
