Are you thinking about submitting to the 2018 Art of Science competition, or just curious about other modalities for communicating science? Join us for an opportunity to hear from one scientist-artist, Rita Blaik (CNSI UCLA) about the importance of communicating your work and the intersection of science and art.

Rita is a multidisciplinary scientist and artist based in Los Angeles, California. Her life's goal is to find new and innovative ways of communicating science to people through workshops, interactive discussions, art, and other media. She received her PhD in 2015 in Materials Science & Engineering at UCLA constructing novel biofuel cell nano-architectures under the direction of Professor Bruce Dunn. She is currently the Manager of Education at the California NanoSystems Institute (CNSI) at UCLA, as well as an adjunct faculty member at ArtCenter College of Design.

Co-sponsored by CSEP, Schuller Lab, College of Creative Studies, and the UCSB Library.
