Location:

This workshop will be taught by Dan Ovando, a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Washington School of Aquatic and Fishery Science. He will give an introduction to Bayesian statistical inference using R and Stan (https://mc-stan.org/). Been interested in using Bayesian statistics but worried that it's too complicated to code or slow to run? Interested in moving from JAGS to Stan? This is the workshop for you! We'll show you how to use R and Stan to fit things from hierarchical linear models to complex population models.

EcoDataScience is an environmental data science study group at UCSB. This volunteer-driven group provides hands-on, lunch-time workshops on various data science tools relevant to environmental science. Lessons in the past have included Spatial Analysis in R, an introduction to Python, advanced GitHub and building R Shiny applications. All sessions take place at the UCSB Library Collaboratory and anyone is welcome to sign up to attend. Lunch is provided.

Time is to be determined, please sign up for up to date information
