This event is an example-driven two day workshop on February 18 and 19, 2021 for introduction to data visualization with Python. Learners will start with basic information about Python syntax and the Jupyter notebook interface. We will work with the Pandas and Plotnine packages going over data frames and plotting.

Short tutorials alternate with hands-on practical exercises, and participants are encouraged both to help one another, and to try applying what they have learned to their own research problems during and between sessions. Participants should bring their own laptop to work on. This should be a Windows, Mac, or Linux machine, not a Chromebook or tablet. You should also be sure to have admin privileges on your laptop.

See https://software-carpentry.org for more information about the organization.

For this workshop, we will be working with Jupyter Notebooks, so learners should install the latest version of Anaconda onto their devices before the workshop.

This event runs on Thursday and Friday, February 18 and 19, 2021 from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

For more information about this workshop, see our class page: https://ucsbcarpentry.github.io/

Participants are asked to complete our pre- and post-workshop survey to help us understand how to serve you. The survey links can be found on the class page (see link above)
