Virginia Scheschy has been Director of Technical Services at University of
Nevada, Reno, since August, 1995. Prior to that she was Assistant
Director for Technical Services at Marquette University in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin. While her background is in cataloging, she also functioned as
System Administrator for Innopac at Marquette. Several years ago she
suggested that Gopher be used as the campuswide information system at
Marquette. Shortly after that she found herself chairing a planning
committee, and eventually became Gophermeister for the University. She
has found the transition to the Web to be exciting. The acceptance of the
Web in education, government, business, and other communities has been
nothing short of overwhelming.
