The global Internet sparked a local collaboration between two campus departments: Counseling & Career Services and the Library at the University of California, Santa Barbara. We designed a career and job information workshop integrating the resources and expertise of both departments. The framework of the workshop was constructed from the career advisor's approach to student career development, from identifying careers to interviewing for positions. The librarians contributed their Internet expertise and their teaching and information-seeking skills. Rather than serving as a mere showcase of job-related URLs, the workshop weaves the Web into an overall career development and job seeking process.

This poster session will highlight how we taught the workshop, integrating career advising and information seeking, using the Web to weave it all together. It will be of interest as an example of successful collaboration, and of teaching information resources through the Web without getting tangled in just the technical aspects.
