Transforming the Web into a Forum for Academic
Research: The USC Doheny Electronic Resources Center Model

Judith Truelson is an Associate Professor of Librarianship
at USC and has an M.L.S. from the University of California at Los Angeles
and an M.P.A. and Ph.D in Public Administration from the USC School of
Public Administration. She was Head of the USC Business School's Crocker
and Accounting Libraries from 1975 to 1996. While there, she was
instrumental in introducing and developing high technology applications for
business information retrieval through a network of CD-ROM databases and
for developing instructional programs on the use of business databases,
LEXIS-NEXIS and the Internet.
Dr. Truelson has recently been appointed Director of the Electronic
Resources Center in the Doheny Memorial Library Reference Center. In her
new assignment, she will be spearheading a program of partnerships between
library faculty and social sciences and humanities faculty involving
integration of digitized primary resources (many of them unique to USC)
into curricular and research activities at USC. Dr. Truelson has a
distinguished record of research, teaching and publication in the fields of
librarianship and public administration.
