He has taught hands-on Web classes at the Santa Monica Public Library, the UCLA GSE&IS Department of Library and Information Science Laboratory, and the Mar Vista Public Library.
He will be speaking today on the creation of the web page for the LACASIS workshop and about his experiences as both a facilitator and participant in the workshop.
Dudee Chiang, Assistant Director for the Thomas & Dorothy Leavey Library at USC. She is here as the Program Chair and in-coming Chair for the Los Angeles Chapter of the American Society for Information Science (LACASIS). Today's discussion is based on a workshop that she had planned for LACASIS in February, 1997. She will talk about the reasons and ideas behind the design of that particular workshop.
Denise Shorey is the Collection Development Coordinator at the Leavey Library, USC. She is a member of LACASIS (the Los Angeles Chapter of the American Society for Information Science) and edits the Chapter's newsletter, OASIS. She worked at Princeton University for five years as a Humanities reference librarian before coming to USC two years ago. As the moderator for the workshop on which today's discussion is based, Denise will talk about her development of the workshop's program and the challenges faced in creating its content.
