Jon Hufford has been employed as the Coordinator of User
Instruction at
the TTU University Libraries, Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas since
March, 1993. He has worked as a professional librarian in such areas as
Reference, Government Documents, Microforms, and Cataloging since October,
1978. He earned a Doctor's Degree in Library Science at Columbia
University in May, 1989; a Master's Degree in Librarianship at the
University of Denver in May, 1975; a Master's Degree in History at the
University of South Dakota in May, 1973; and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in
History at Miami University in May, 1971. His goals over the next few
years include developing better Internet workshops, the Library's new
microcomputer laboratory, and new one-hour credit courses offering library
research skills for undergraduates.
Bill Johnson is a science librarian at Texas Tech
University Libraries and
liaison to the departments of biology, mathematics, and physics. He has
been at Texas Tech since 1994. Prior to this he was a customer service
supervisor with UHaul for nearly twelve years. He is involved in
international librarianship and distance education, serving on the Texas
Mexico Relations Committee of the Texas Library Association. Bill is also
involved in a number of Web related projects such as creating virtual
collections or exhibits on such topics as playa lake research and the
Koger History of Science Collection. He is presently the team leader for
the Univeristy Libraries Webteam. He received a Master of Library Science
degree from the University of Arizona in 1993 and a Master of Science
degree in botany from Arizona State University in 1985.
