Librarians have felt the impact throughout the library of poorly designed
Internet assignments. Unclear instructions, incorrect URLs, unprepared
students, and the lack of consideration for potential technical mishaps,
have added an additional layer of chaos to the library research
environment. This presentation will define the problems with specific
examples, suggest solutions to dealing with unsuccessful Internet
research assignments, and provide tips on communicating with faculty.
Participants will receive a checklist highlighting key elements of
effective Internet assignments.
