Listed below are the major print and online resources for research on tests and measurements at the UCSB Davidson Library. For further assistance, ask a reference librarian at the 1st floor Reference Desk or contact Lorna Lueck, the Education Collection Specialist.

Please note: The UCSB Library does not maintain a test collection, however, many reference books, indexes, and other tools are available to locate descriptive information, critical reviews, or references related to the construction, validity, and use of specific published tests. Resources are also available for locating unpublished tests in books, articles, dissertations, or other special collections.


Reference Sources for Published Tests

The term "published test" generally refers to commercially published tests currently available for purchase by licensed professionals only. The following sources contain descriptions, references to books and articles, or reviews of published tests as indicated.

Contains descriptions of tests currently in print, references, and purchasing information; also serves as a master index to the Mental Measurements Yearbook.

Reference Sources For Unpublished Tests

The term "unpublished test" generally refers to tests that are not comercially published or available for purchase. Unpublished tests may appear in various sources including books, dissertations, and journal articles. Permission to use these tests must be obtained from the author. ETS TestLink
Provides information on over 20,000 standardized tests and research instruments in the Educational Testing Service (ETS) Test Collection. Some tests may be purchased and downloaded from the TestLink Database, while others may be available in journal articles or in the Tests in Microfiche collection.
Test Reviews Online.
A cumulative index to reviews appearing in the Mental Measurements Yearbook by title, subject, and keyword.
Tests and Measures in the Social Sciences: Tests Available in Compilation Volumes.
An index to individual tests appearing in compilations (mainly published books).
