Key feature is citation index, which finds items which cite other items. You may create a 'web' of research on a topic, find out who and how many are citing you, etc. ;  It may also be used to identify works by author, topic. etc.

  LexisNexis Statistical 
LexisNexis Statistical is an index to published statistical tables.  Some entries also include the tables themselves.  It indexes statistics appearing in sources from the U.S. federal government, international governmental organizations, associations, business organizations, commercial publishers, independent researchers, state governments, and university research centers. 

  FEDSTATS 
Indexes and links to government statistical data online by topic or keyword. Good starting point, but not nearly as comprehensive as Statistical Universe.

COMPILATIONS, US CURRENT

  STAT-USA State of the Nation  
Like the Whitehouse site below, STAT-USA compiles popular releases of government economic data.

Large compilaiton of US and world financial and economic statistics, from the St. Louis Fed.

  Economic Statistics Briefing Room
The Whitehouse compiles current data and press releases for nearly all of the commonly used economic indicators compiled by the government.

  Bureau of Labor Statistics
BLS produces the latest releases on prices/inflation, labor/employment, earnings, productivity, and a few others.

  Bureau of the Census
Census produces many economic releases that are closely followed, including data of trade, manufacturing, construction, wholesale trade, construction, and housing.

  Conference Board Economic Indicators
Compiles major economic indicators, including Composite Indexes of Leading, Coincident, and Lagging Indicators.

Monthly report from the Council of Economic Advisors includes most popular economic statistics, including those on production and output, prices/inflation, employment and earnings, trade, fiscal policy, money supply, and interest rates.

  Survey of Current Business. [Ref H 1 S8]
Monthly report from the Bureau of Economic Analysis complies many popular economic and business statistics, including much of the data in Economic Indicators (above) in more detail, and some data for regions and states. The "Business Situation" section highlights the last month's economy.

Large compilaiton of US and world financial and economic statistics, from the St. Louis Fed.

  Economic Report of the President (with Budget). [Ref US Govt Pub PR xx.9: where "xx" equals pres. number, (i.e. Clinton years at Pr 42.9.)] 
Annual report from the Council of Economic Advisors highlights current economic trends and policy. Each year's issue contains a large statistical appendix, with time-series data for most popular economic statistics.

  Historical Statistics of the United States from Colonial Times to 1970. [Ref Desk HA 202 B87 1987]
Compiles data on various topics- much of it economic- from the earliest dates such data was available. Includes source notes for further investigation.

  Statistical Abstract of the United States. [HA 202 U6 (current at Ref Desk, older in main stacks)] 
Popular annual statistical volume on all topics includes all major economic statistics. Use older volumes to get older statistics.

  Business Statistics. [Ref HF 3002 U5]
Compiles statistics on production and output, income and poverty, spending, prices, employment, monetary and fiscal policy, and trade, most of it for at least the last 30 years.

  National Income and Product Accounts of the United States. [US Govt Pub C 59.11/5:] 
Production and output, income and consumption, fiscal policy/government receipts and expenditures, employment, prices, and investment data for the time period 1929-1994.

  Budget of the United States. [Ref US Govt Pub PREX 2.8:] 
Annual report from President's Office includes proposed budget, in detail, for the next fiscal year, actual budget for two most recent years, and a variety of summary historical data for the U.S. budget/government expenditure.

  Federal Reserve Bulletin. [H 1 F4 (current at Main Serials)] 
Monthly publication from the Federal Reserve contains current monetary statistics as well as other popular economic data, with articles on selected topics.

  Federal Reserve Annual Statistical Digest. [Ref HG 181 A1 U55a]
Compilation of data from the Federal Reserve Bulletin.

  Fed Open Market Committee and Beige Book and Fed Data and Statistics (not comprehensive). 
Fed's website includes minutes from the Open Market Committee, the Beige Book (published eight times per year) on the current state of the economy, and selected monetary statistics, both current and historical.

Quarterly publication tracks the cost of living for places around the country for several sectors, such as housing, health care, etc.

Data on employment, productivity, and earnings, much of it for the last 50 years.

  World Development Indicators [also, free data last five years]
Best, most comprehensive source for current and recent statistical data on the world's nations. It includes data on more than 500 topics (indicators) about the people, economy, environment, and public finance of 210 nations. The Online version contains time series from 1960 to the present, and data may be exported in a variety of formats (inc. Excel, dbase, and SAS), as well as mapped and charted.

  UNSTATS: UN Statistics Division Common Database
Huge compilation of socioeconomic statistics for the countries of the world. Hundreds of data series for the world's nations. Some data back to 1946. Includes source notes, ability to download to a comma separated file.

  Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) Country Intelligence
EIU Profiles and Reports provide timely analysis and forecasts of the political, economic, social, and business environment in a total of 126 reports about more than 180 countries. They present the political and economic structure of the country, the current political scene, economic policy, domestic economy (covering industry, agriculture, money and finance), foreign trade and payments, and the outlook for the future. Country reports are archived online (web) from 1996 forward.

  Statistical Abstract of the United States. [Comparative International Statistics chapter. Ref Desk HA 202 U6]
Includes basic economic and finance statistics for nations worldwide.

  Statistical Yearbook. (UN) [Ref Desk HA 12.5 U5]
Volume contains mostly economic statistics, including tables for national accounts/fiscal data, labor and wages, trade, finance, balance of payments, and production in many industries.

  UN InfoNation.
Simple interactive application includes several major economic statistics and three largest industries for nations.

  UN Demographic, Social, and Housing Statistics.
Recent data for the nations of the world of a number of indicators of socioeconomic welfare. Less than UNSTATS above, but this is freely available.

  World Bank Data by Country. 
Compiles country statistics on a number of topics, from general economic and social indicators to specific reports on education and gender.

  International Financial Statistics Online (IMF). [also as Yearbook at Ref H 1 I61 suppl]
Financial data by country, includes trade, interest rates, national accounts, government finance, monetary data, and economic variables. Data is available from 1945 on Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual basis.

  IMF Country Information. 
These International Monetary Fund reports provide detailed data on a nation's economy; often the last five years are covered.
