• Numeric Data Services - data sources by subject; also tutorials on how to download data. Compiled by North Carolina State University.
• Social Sciences Data Collection - catalog of data (generally limited to UCSD use), stored at UC San Diego; also includes links to Social Sciences Data on the Net.
• Political, Social, and Economic Data Archives - links to sources of data. Compiled by Richard Kimber, Keele University (UK).
• UCSB's Social Science Data Library -Local experts on social sciences data.
• ICPSR Home Page - search or browse the data resources at the Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research. Some public data sets are available for free; for the others, UCSB affiliates can access through the campus proxy server.
• Scholars' Lab - from the University of Virginia's Geospatial and Statistical Data Center, includes web interfaces to various government statistical products (all of which are also available in print or CD at Davidson Library). Products feature current and historical social and economic data for the U.S. and its places. Includes County and City Data Books, County Business Patterns, National Income and Products Accounts, Public Use Microdata Samples (PUMS)--1990 Census, Regional Economic Information System, State Personal Income and Uniform Crime Reports. See also their Statistics and Social Science Data, which includes Historical Social, Economic and Demographic Data from the US Decennial Census (1790-1860), among other resources.
• U.S. Census Bureau Data Access Tools - various tools for accessing data of the Census Bureau, includes American Factfinder.
• Data Ferret (Federal Electronic Research Review and Extraction Tool) - joint effort of U.S. Census Bureau and U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, FERRET offers access to several of the most popular federal data sources, including the Current Population Survey, Survey of Income and Program Participation, and the National Health Interview Survey.
• Nesstar - "NESSTAR is an infrastructure for data dissemination via the Internet. The NESSTAR Explorer provides an end user interface for searching, analyzing and downloading data and documentation. The NESSTAR Publisher provides the tools and resources for making the data and documentation available via the Internet."
• StatLib - a system for distributing statistical software, datasets, and information by electronic mail, FTP and WWW, from Department of Statistics at Carnegie Mellon University.
• Growth Data Sets - economic growth datasets include economic and social data. From Jonathan Temple, Institute of Economics and Statistics, Oxford's Nuffield College.
• CIESIN (Center for International Earth Science Information Network) Data Resources - highlights include interface to World Bank's Social Indicators of Development.
• Penn World Tables - time-series data on 29 topics, by country. Cover generally ranges from 1950-2000.

• Statistical Agencies (International) - list of links compiled by the US Census Bureau.
• EconData.net - pointers to socioeconomics data for US regions.
• ISSR Data Archives Home Page - catalog of holdings of ISSR (Institute for Social Science Research) at UCLA. The catalog may be searched, but data is for UCLA only. Also includes links to other data resources.
