The first four sections of this page correspond to the four steps of the career development process. In Self Assessment, resources help you assess your strengths, interests, and values, and relate them to career choice. Career Identification resources give descriptions, forecasts, and other information about specific careers. Job Announcements contains links to a wide variety of job ads. In Personal Presentation, there are sources of information on how to present youself to a prospective employer, and on researching a company in preparation for an interview. The final section, Career SuperSites, has links to several extensive career and job information sites.

UCSB's Career Services
C&CS offers a variety of services to help UCSB students assess their strengths, values, and interests. They will help you find out what you want through their Career Planning pages.

This test will be most useful if interpreted by a professional career advisor who can help link the results to careers.

Career Identification Resources

Descriptions, forecasts, and other information about specific careers.

Occupational Outlook Handbook
Career guidance, information about prospective changes in the world of work, and the qualifications that will be needed by tomorrow's workers. For about 250 occupations, OOH describes the nature of work, job outlook, training/qualifications required, and earnings, and lists related occupations and sources of additional information.
Occupational Projections and Training Data.
Statistical and research supplement to the Occupational Outlook Handbook; presents detailed, comprehensive statistics used in preparing the Handbook.
Occupational & Career Information from the California Employment Development Department
Select California Occupational Guides for in-depth statewide reports on approximately 300 occupations.
Career Guides via JobStar
General employment outlooks and guides to specific careers from a variety of sources.
Salary Information via JobStar.
Descriptions of and links to over 200 salary surveys or summaries.
