What's In the Wyles Collection:
Non-Book Materials


On display were a selection of non-book materials covering the Civil War, Westward Expansion, and the Gold Rush in California and Alaska. The formats ranged from original Civil War sheet music, broadsides, photographs, and various Civil War artifacts such as a union cap and Lincoln's life mask, stamps and currency to maps and artist sketches of life during the Gold Rush. "What's In the Wyles Collection: Non-Book Materials" were on display in Special Collections in the Davidson Library through November 4, 1997. Special Collections is open Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. For information call (805)893-3062.
