Donating Funds

The Department of Special Collections welcomes outright or planned gifts. Donors have contributed to the purchase of rare books and manuscripts, processing of manuscript collections and providing assistance for special events and projects.

Donating Library Materials

Special Collections is actively seeking collections that enhance the curriculum of the University and complement the Library's current holdings. The Library's collections emphasize Santa Barbara history, the Civil War and western expansion, the performing arts, historical sound recordings, book arts, ethnic groups of California and humanistic psychology. Further detail about the collection areas, please see our collection management policy.

We cannot purchase or appraise collections. Contact the archivists if you know of materials that might fit into the scope of our collections.
