Harmer (Douglas) Papers, 1880-1960.

Papers of Santa Barbara theater director and author. Harmer directed plays at the Alhecama theatre in Santa Barbara, Calif., edited a Santa Barbara bilingual magazine Don Quijote and later became the chief information officer for the Naval Construction Battalion Center in Port Hueneme, Calif., editing the publication the Seabee Coverall. His father was the noted 19th century California landscape painter and illustrator Alexander Francis Harmer, and the collection contains 1 box of his father's correspondence and photos.
