Antoni Van der Voort Papers, 1930s-1952. (PA Mss 22)

Antoni Van der Voort

Composer and violinist Antoni Van der Voort emigrated to the United States shortly before World War I from Haarlem, the Netherlands. He lived in Santa Barbara teaching music, composing and playing in local orchestras until his death in 1952. The collection contains his music manuscripts including his Sinfonietta, which won the 1942 Composition Prize from the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra.
