• Cataloged Santa Barbara Area Newspapers.  Longer runs of newspapers have been cataloged individually and can be searched on Pegasus, the UCSB Libraries online catalog.  Isla Vista newspapers include Argo, Daily Planet, Isla Vista Free Press and Probe.  Larger circulation local newspapers also contain coverage of Isla Vista events and issues.  These include the Santa Barbara News-Press and the Independent, as well as the UCSB student newspaper The Daily Nexus. 
  
  
• Santa Barbara Newspapers (SBHC Mss 50).  Collection, mainly individual issues and short runs of 1960s and 1970s Isla Vista/Santa Barbara area alternative newspapers such as Altar Native Sun, Beyond the Looking Glass, and I.V. Viewpoint. 
  
  
• The Alternative Press Collection (Mss 169).  Includes individual issues and short runs of several hundred 1960s and 1970s newspapers, many from California, but also from other parts of the U.S., Canada, and Europe.  [documents related issues and events elsewhere].
  
  
• Other newspapers such as the Los Angeles Times also contain some coverage of major Isla Vista stories like the Bank of America burning.
