Proxy Configuration: Netscape 2.x and 3.x

We are transitioning to a new proxy server. Using the new proxy requires no set-up on your part, but anyone who used the old proxy server ** must ** undo the set-up for your browser before using the new one.

Follow the instructions below to undo the old proxy set-up.

Note:  You may find it easier to print out these directions before you begin.

  1. Open Netscape.
  2. Click "Options" on the main toolbar, and choose "Network Preferences" from the drop down menu.
  3. You should see a popup dialog box labelled "Netscape: Network Preferences" with several tabs across the top. Select the tab labelled "Proxies".
  4. On the proxies page, delete the proxy address from the box. Choose "Direct Connection to the Internet".
  5. Click the "OK" button.
  6. That's it. You can now use the new proxy server.
