Congratulations to second year Political Science student Bonnie Casillas, winner of the I <3 UCSB Library contest for her entry "Saturday Night Rendez-vous with Davidson." The contest was designed to capture creative memories and appreciation of the UCSB Library before groundbreaking on the Library Addition and Renovation Project. For her winning entry, Bonnie has won a $100 Amazon gift certificate, and her photograph will be entered into the University Archives.

Interlibrary Loan has completed the move to the Third Floor of Davidson Library (Room 3523). The Service Desk is now open in their new location.

To find Interlibrary Loan:

• from the 8-story elevator: get off on the third floor, go left and then immediately left to the end of the hallway.
• from the 8-story stairs: go to the third floor, take a left.
• from the 4-story elevator: get off on the third floor, go right, and just before the 8 story elevators go right again to the end of the hallway.

As part of the Library Addition and Renovation Project, the Map & Imagery Lab is moving to a new location for the duration of construction.  During the move (June 25-June 27) they will be closed.  When they re-open, MIL will be located on the lower level of the first floor just past the reference collection and the current serials shelving area.

In response to the Library renovation project, the Interlibrary Loan Office will be moving on Wednesday, June 26, to a temporary location on the third floor of Davidson Library. The ILL Service Desk will be closed until the move is complete. ILL plans on re-opening its new service desk on the third floor as soon as possible after they are settled in. Please note that this move will not effect the requesting of interlibrary loan materials.

With the start of summer classes, our summer hours are now in effect.  Check our hours pages to find the operating hours of our different library locations.

As part of the Davidson Library's renovation and expansion, MIL has moved  to our temporary location for the next 3 years. This location is on the far south end of the building on the first floor:

Although our temporary space will be considerably smaller, all of our materials will continue to be accessible to our users.  Materials stored off-site will be retrieved daily.  We encourage you call ahead to make the most of your visit.

During the academic recess period (Saturday, June 15 - Sunday, June 23) library hours will vary.  Please check the hours for Davidson Library and the Arts Library below.  For other service areas, check the hours pages.

The east entrance will close to the public starting on Monday, June 17 as the Library embarks on a major Addition and Renovation Project. The west doors will serve as the sole entrance into the Library, as well as exit from the Library, throughout the multi-year construction project.
