UCSB Reads Book Giveaway a Big Success

Half an hour before the book giveaway was set to begin, hundreds of students lined the hall of the Library waiting to receive their copy of Moonwalking With Einstein, this year's UCSB Reads selection.  Chancellor Henry Yang and his wife Dilling Yang, Executive Vice Chancellor Gene Lucas, University Librarian Denise Stephens, and Associated Students Vice President Mayra Segovia joined library staff to hand out free copies of the book.  Throughout the day students came into the library to get copies until all 2,000 copies were distributed.

This year's book giveaway kicked off what promises to be a fun and exciting UCSB Reads program.  Watch our news blog, Facebook page, or our special UCSB Reads website to learn more about upcoming events.  The program will culminate with a free lecture on March 4th by the book's author, Joshua Foer.  Join us and help make this year's UCSB Reads program a success!
