The Getty Research Institute has launched the new Getty Research Portal, providing global access to digitized art history texts in the public domain. Through this multilingual, multicultural catalog, scholars can search and download complete digital copies of publications for the study of art, architecture, material culture, and related fields. The Portal is free to all users.
This new resource is an international collaborative project of the Getty working with libraries that are digitizing art history books. Initial contributors include the Avery Architectural & Fine Arts Library at Columbia University, the Biblioteca de la Universidad de Málaga, the Frick Art Reference Library, the Getty Research Institute, the Heidelberg University Library, the Institut national d'histoire de l'art, members of the New York Art Resources Consortium, and the Thomas J. Watson Library at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This collaborative project will continue to grow through contributions.
