Unusual Maps from LA Libraries

Public television station KCET asked LA-area map librarians to highlight hidden gems from their collections that are of special interest to Southern Californians.  The resulting set of maps show the breadth-and-depth of what is available not just in the UCSB Map & Imagery Lab, but also regionally.

Maps include a 1942 AAA map with crayon markings showing Los Angeles "dimout zones" where motorists were required to turn off their headlights while driving to thwart enemy ships off the coast and that most Hollywood of maps:  a 1932 map of move stars' homes.
