The Map & Imagery Laboratory is the main campus resource for geospatial data, and a national leader in providing data services in a library environment. We collect a wide variety spatial data, and have been doing so for more than 25 years.  Our extensive data holdings concentrate on Southern California, but we also collect topographic basemap data for foreign countries, satellite imagery, and GIS data for the entire state of California.  We also create spatial data of interest to campus users.

Our lab contains two workstations that have ESRI's ArcGIS 10.1.  These workstations have direct access to our extensive dark archive of spatial data, and are a great place to use the Library's Interactive CD-ROM and DVD collection.

MIL staff can help you to find data, either in our own collection or on the Web, to help you with your mapping and spatial analysis projects. Feel free to conact with your questions at milrefdesk [at] library [dot] ucsb [dot] edu or just stop by during regular business hours.

MIL also helps to administer UCSB's campus-wide ESRI site license.
