SPARC: The Scholarly Publishing & Academic Resources Coalition
An initiative of the Association of Research Libraries
SPARC has received excellent media coverage on a number of fronts recently
that you may be interested in. Today (Dec. 8, 1998), for example, the
Science Section of the New York Times contains an article by Carol Kaesuk
Yoon titled "Soaring Prices Spur a Revolt in Scientific Publishing" (p.
D2). The article focuses on journal prices, SPARC, and the new title
Evolutionary Ecology Research started by Dr. Michael Rosenzweig.
