Sandy drove out to Santa Barbara along with her two cats, Sofie and Alex. Along the way they stopped in Fort Sumter, NM to visit the gravesite of Billy the Kid. Sandy can explain to you why his grave has two headstones.
Both Sandy and the cats are adapting well to Santa Barbara. Despite the boxes she still has to unpack, Sandy feels like she's lived here forever. This familiarity may be partly due to her enjoyment of Sue Grafton's novels set in the Santa Barbara-like town of Santa Teresa.
In addition to enjoying mysteries, Sandy likes to garden and sew.
Sandy is happy to be starting at UCSB and is looking forward to working with the collections and all the electronic resources available here. She will be working with the electrical and computer engineering and mechanical engineering collections.
Welcome, Sandy!
